17-Year-Old Fatally Shot, Homicide Investigation Underway In Bolingbrook: Cops

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A 17-year-old is dead, and a homicide investigation is underway after police responded to Grove Court at 11 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a person shot, Bolingbrook Police said.

Police officers said they found the 17-year-old with an apparent gunshot wound, and immediately began medical aid. The Bolingbrook Fire Department responded to the scene and took the teen to an area hospital for treatment.

The victim, Daniel Starks, was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m.

Officers quickly secured the scene and began a systematic search of the area with the assistance of a K-9 unit, police said. Detectives and evidence technicians also responded to the scene to assist with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
