2 Bolingbrook Park District Employees Test Positive For COVID-19

The Annerino Community Center along with the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex will be temporarily closed till Sunday.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Two Bolingbrook Park District Facilities will be temporarily shuttered after employees tested positive for COVID-19. The district announced in a social media post Thursday that the Annerino Community Center and the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex will be closed July 16-19.

"A total of two Bolingbrook Park District staff members have reported having a confirmed/diagnosed case of COVID-19," the Facebook post said. "After careful review of the information received, we do not believe any member of the public had close contact with the individuals."

This will allow time for a thorough cleaning of both facilities, district officials said.

Both these had reopened to the public July 1 after the state moved to Phase 4 of the governor's reopening plan amid the pandemic.

The Pelican Harbor Aquatic Park will remain open for swimming and lessons since the "staff members were not in that facility," the post stated. The district is working closely with the Will County Health Department to ensure all proper protocols are being taken.
