3rd Person Facing Murder, Home Invasion Charges In 2024 Shooting Death Of Bolingbrook Man

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A third person has been arrested and charged after the May 2024 shooting death of Terrell Johnson, according to a release from Bolingbrook Police.

On May 6, the United States Marshals Task Force out of Will County arrested Brittany Foley, 32, of Chicago, on charges related to the May 16, 2024, shooting death of Johnson, police said.

Foley was arrested in Chicago on a Will County arrest warrant and taken to the Bolingbrook Police Department for processing. She has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of home invasion, attempted armed robbery, attempted residential burglary, attempted robbery, attempted burglary and criminal trespass to residence.

Foley is the third person to be charged in relation to this case, in addition to Mark Bell, 29, of Chicago; and Carla Williams, of Georgia.

Bell was arrested last month, and is facing charges of three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of home invasion, attempted armed robbery, attempted residential burglary, attempted robbery, attempted burglary and criminal trespass to residence.

Williams was arrested in July 2024 and is also charged with first-degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery, robbery, burglary, residential burglary and criminal trespassing.

The arrests stem from a May 16, 2024, incident on Preston Drive in Bolingbrook. Police said officers responded at 8:29 p.m. for a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man, now identified as Johnson, with apparent gunshot wounds.

Officers began giving medical aid, and paramedics soon took over life-saving measures and took Johnson to an area hospital for treatment, where he was later pronounced dead, according to police.

"As this investigation approaches its one-year anniversary, we applaud the relentless dedication of our Investigations Unit," Bolingbrook Police said in a release. "The collective efforts of these men and women have helped to bring this case to conclusion and have taken the first major step towards finding justice for Mr. Johnson and his family. The Investigations Unit continues to serve as a shining example of professionalism and stalwart advocates for crime victims throughout Bolingbrook."
