Police Investigating Death of Bolingbrook Man Crushed by Vehicle

A preliminary investigation indicates Michael Jason Morris, 32, was underneath his vehicle working on the brakes and transmission when the vehicle rolled back on him.

Officials from the and the Will County Coroner’s office are investigating the death of a man who was found pinned under a Jeep Cherokee early Tuesday morning.

Michael Jason Morris, 32, 543 Emerson Court, was found by Bolingbrook police and fire officials at 12:47 a.m. after they were dispatched to his home for the report of a vehicle which fell on an individual.

Police said a neighbor made the call.

Upon arrival, officers found Morris under his vehicle and unresponsive. They were able to lift the vehicle while another officer pulled Morris out from underneath.

CPR was immediately administered before Morris was taken to where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation indicates Morris was underneath his vehicle working on the brakes and transmission. The vehicle was not elevated and was not secured to prevent it from rolling, police said. The vehicle rolled back on Morris, coming to rest on his upper torso.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of celebration of life at 8 p.m. Thursday at the . Cremation will be private.
