Annual Bolingbrook Jubilee Begins Friday
Here's what we can look forward to with this weekend's upcoming Bolingbrook Jubilee festival, which draws around 30,000 people annually.

Thousands of people will be descending on the village for the annual Bolingbrook Jubilee.
This year’s festival, organized by the Bolingbrook Jubilee Committee, will be held from Friday, Aug. 16 to Sunday, Aug. 18, in the park behind Town Center at 375 West Briarcliff Road.
Over the three day period, about 30,000 annually make it to the summer bash, said Becky Davidek, one coordinator of the event.

“Due to influx of new residents and local businesses that support the event, this year is expected to be the biggest ever with an expanded Family Day offering many more children's activities and family-oriented events,” she said.
Activities will include a carnival, craft show, bingo, bags tournament, music performances, food and beer, and the Summer Cruze 2013 classic car show.

“Our Saturday car show has become well-known among car enthusiasts as one of their preferred venues for its site, attendance and upscale prizes,” Davidek said. She said the Bolingbrook Jubilee offers “something for everyone.”
“The best part of this event, which sets it apart from other surrounding community events, is that it offers free entertainment and is open to anyone wishing to attend,” she said. “It's family friendly and affordable. Everyone who comes out to the event has a great time.”
