Arrest Made In 2016 Bolingbrook Homicide

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Nearly six years after a Bolingbrook man was found shot to death in his garage, police said a 24-year-old Aurora man has been charged in connection with the death.
Police responded to the 300 block of Greenwood Drive just after 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, to find 50-year-old Todd A. Frantzen, who was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. A day after the killing, Crime Stopper announced a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
On Tuesday, Bolingbrook police announced the arrest of Aaron Ortiz, 24, of the 800 block of Symphony Drive in Aurora.

Will County jail bookings show Ortiz was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder, along with a parole violation.
Illinois Department of Corrections records indicate he was taken into custody on a Will County aggravated robbery charge in December 2017, just months after Frantzen's death, and after being sentenced to eight years, was paroled in November 2021. He was also sentenced for a Kendall County theft charge, according to records.

Police said Ortiz's bond was set at $5 million. He is due in court Wednesday morning.
