Best Ice Cream Place Near Bolingbrook: Readers Pick

BOLINGBROOK, IL — We asked Bolingbrook Patch readers this week to give us their best ice cream place recommendations. And the results on your favorite spots are now in.

Andy's Frozen Custard, at 450 N. Bolingbrook Drive, was the clear front runner, our reader's poll — which ran from last Friday through this Friday — shows. Runner-ups were Oberweis and Dairy Queen, though not quite as popular as the reigning Andy's.

While those three places led the pack as local favorites, La Michoacana and Culver's also got nods from readers.

One reader also mentioned Chicago's famous Original Rainbow Cone. While their staple store is located in Chicago's Beverly neighborhood — as well as a recently opened Lombard location, the business sends ice cream trucks around the suburbs to make getting the sweet treat easier. This reader has been following the trucks and says "it is delicious and different!"

Readers who voted for Andy's as their favorite say the shop "never disappointed" and like it for the variety of flavors offered.

"They fill the cup to the top and aren't skimpy on toppings," one reader said of Andy's.
