Bolingbrook Board Approves Purchase Of Property Near The Promenade

BOLINGBROOK, IL — At its Tuesday meeting, the Bolingbrook Village Board authorized the purchase of 3.73 acres near Janes Avenue and Falcon Ridge Way.

"The property abuts to approximately 40 acres that the Village already owns and will be used for future development," Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta said.

Alexander-Basta said this property also connects to a 50-acre privately-owned parcel that is probably the largest parcel that Bolingbrook has for sale at this point.

"This is all by The Promenade," she added. "We want to make sure that we maintain what goes on in the entirety."

"This is a piece of property that, again, once the developer decides to develop on either the 50, or the 40 [acres], will be sold," Alexander-Basta said.

According to Board documents, the purchase will not exceed a total cost of $351,000, plus closing costs not to exceed $10,000.
