Bolingbrook Costco To Expand Parking Lot
The Costco in Bolingbrook has purchased the nearby property that previously contained Oberweis and That Burger Joint.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Costco in Bolingbrook will be getting more parking after an amendment to a special use permit was approved at Tuesday's Village Board meeting.
The Bolingbrook Village Board approved an amendment to a special use permit by "striking the provisions and variances that are no longer applicable, and granting a variance to allow development of a lot without a principal structure," Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta said.
Costco Wholesale, at 860 W. Boughton Road, has purchased the nearby property that previously contained Oberweis and That Burger Joint, and wants to demolish the structure and use it for more parking.

"While we hate to see two locations go, obviously I'm assuming that Costco fills the need for that much more parking, which means that, I'm hoping, they're doing very well for our community," Alexander-Basta said.
Costco representatives said they expect to break ground within the next couple of months. The business would like the parking lot ready to go before the store's blackout period in early November.
