Bolingbrook Crash Results In One Death: Will County Coroner
A two-vehicle collision in Bolingbrook on Saturday, Jan. 11 resulted in one fatality, the Will County Coroner reported.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — A two-vehicle crash in Bolingbrook on Saturday, Jan. 11 resulted in one death, Will County Coroner Patrick O'Neil has reported. James Stump III, a 63-year-old male Bolingbrook resident, was pronounced deceased by first responders at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Reagan Boulevard and Danhof Drive.
"Mr. Stump was the driver of a vehicle involved in a collision with another vehicle," O'Neil stated. "Bolingbrook Police Department is investigating the incident."
Bolingbrook Police Deputy Chief Michael Rompa told Patch via email that the cause of the crash is not yet known conclusively.

"On 01/11/2020 at approximately 2:43 PM Bolingbrook Police and Fire Units responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Reagan and Danhof," Rompa stated. "The preliminary investigation revealed the crash involved (2) vehicles. There were (4) occupants in a SUV and the sole driver in a 4-door sedan. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. There were no signs of additional, significant property damage outside of the vehicles involved."
Stump was the driver of the four-door sedan. No other fatalities were reported from the incident, but all four occupants of the SUV sustained injuries and were taken to area hospitals. Rompa stated that none of their injuries appeared life-threatening.

O'Neil stated that an autopsy for Stump has been scheduled for Monday, Jan. 13, with a toxicology report to follow.
"The final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date pending police autopsy and toxicological report," O'Neil said.
