This may sound cliché but I am running for this office because I want to improve the efficiency of the township. I have attended some meetings and reviewed the financials and I think there are opportunities to make the township more efficient and better utilize taxpayer resources.

What will be your most important priority if you get elected?

My most important priority should I get elected will be to ensure that tax dollars allocated to DuPage Township are administered in a fair and equitable manner in keeping with the mandate of township government.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

Without commenting on other candidates my values include honesty, integrity and fair-play which will serve as the basis for all decisions involving the use of taxpayer dollars.

How long have you lived in your community and/or been active in local issues?

We have lived in Boligbrook for about 19 years. I have been active in the local Democratic Party for over 10 years.

What's your favorite thing about DuPage Township?

What I like most about DuPage Township is its citizens. I think the diversity, the spirit of cooperation and the ability to work together in spite of individual differences are assets that contribute to the appeal of DuPage Township.

What are the biggest challenges facing DuPage Township, and how would you address them?

I think one of the biggest challenges facing DuPage Township is the current economic environment. The fact that demand for services is increasing while at the same time the township is facing a shrinking tax base represents a growing challenge. As a trustee I will work with the township supervisor and fellow trustees to carefully examine how the township does things and find ways to do them better to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Those savings can then be used to offset the cost of providing more assistance. I will work with the board to focus on improving how assistance requests are administered to ensure that request for assistance take into account what is best for the residents of DuPage Township as a whole rather than simply acting on behalf of political insiders.
