Bolingbrook H.S. Debuts New Black Turf Football Field Friday
Bolingbrook High School will be the first school in the state to have a black-turfed football field.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Raiders will take to their new, unique football field for the first time Friday night. The high school will debut its new field equipped with black turf, making Bolingbrook the first school in the state with a black football field.
Bolingbrook's football team will also unveil new, all-red jerseys. The team will open its season at home tonight against the Proviso West Panthers. The game will mark the first one played on the new football field, the Valley View School District said in a press release.
Bolingbrook is the first school in the state with a black playing surface, and is only one of two schools with a football field that is any color but green. Bloom High School in Chicago Heights has a blue field, according to the district.
