Faculty sponsor Julie Brown and 2012-13 Editor-In-Chief Rachel Erskine accepted the grant from the Illinois Press Foundation and the McCormick Foundation.

According to the IPF’s Barry Locher, 86 applicants were considered for roughly $45,000 in grants. The program is designed to help high school media programs throughout the state.
