The 15,000-square-foot addition to the hospital campus is scheduled for completion in September 2026.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook is increasing access to specialized cardiovascular and oncologic care with the construction of two state-of-the-art catheterization laboratories, the hospital shared in a news release.

The 15,000-square-foot addition to the hospital campus is scheduled for completion in September 2026, with patient services expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.

“This expansion reflects our commitment to providing timely, high-quality cardiac care to the Bolingbrook community,” Kenneth Rose, president and CEO, UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook, said in a release. “The new laboratories will significantly enhance our ability to respond to acute cardiac events and deliver life-saving interventions.”

A formal groundbreaking ceremony was held on Nov. 7.

The hospital said the new facilities are designed to improve response times for cardiac emergencies, including ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI), and will boost the ability to care for patients more efficiently. The new labs will also expand access to advanced interventional radiology procedures, including image-guided biopsies and minimally invasive cancer treatments – critical services for patients facing oncologic diagnoses.

The hospital said the expansion aligns with the hospital’s long-term strategy to deliver advanced cardiovascular care locally, leveraging innovation, clinical expertise, and strong physician collaboration to meet the needs of a growing Bolingbrook community.

“By integrating advanced technology and thoughtful design into a program that is close to home, we are strengthening our ability to meet the evolving needs of a growing community,” Gordon Wesley, Chief Strategy and Clinical Integration Officer for UChicago Medicine AdventHealth, said in a release. “These new labs will not only enhance clinical capabilities but also reinforce our commitment to access, collaboration and excellence.”
