
Signs of talent were everywhere May 16 at the annual Bolingbrook High School Student Art Show.
Valeria Ortega’s colored pencil work “Make a Joyful Noise” earned Best of Show honors and was also named Student’s Choice for 2D, while Kelsie Carter’s “Blue Poison-dart Frog won 1st place in 2D and Marc Jimenez’ “Serenity” won 1st place in 3D. Jimenez also won Student’s Choice for 3D.
Other winners in 2D included: 2nd—Ashley Sworst, “Study on Georgia O’Keefe” and 3rd—Alex Watkins, “Phoenix Sitting.”

3D winners were: 2nd— Kaitlan Madsen, “Turtle eGG and Dogwood”, and 3rd—Alex Simmons, “Tulip’s Leaves.”
Honorable Mentions went to Watkins, Noemi Lopez, Sam Charles, Tamika Spradler, Victoria Temples, Cathy Cooke, Brianna Campbell, Marc Jimenez (two), Jaelyn Burns, Delaney Gould, and Samantha Robles.

Teacher’s Choice awards went to Gould’s “Fancy Cats” (Colombatto,) Vivian Huynh’s “Deep Jungle” (Shapiro), Jenny Calleros’ “Paisley Adams” (Franks-Tapley) and Burns’ “Gemini” (Cepican).
