Bolingbrook Man Arrested For Domestic Battery, Resisting Arrest
The Bolingbrook PD said that the accused 21-year-old was taken into custody after reportedly striking a female victim in the face.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — A 21-year-old Bolingbrook resident named Sabino Guzman Jr. was arrested on Saturday shortly before 9 p.m., the Bolingbrook Police reported, on charges of domestic battery and resisting arrest. Guzman was taken into custody after the police responded to a report of a domestic violence in the area, Bolingbrook PD Public Information Officer Anthony Columbus said.
"On [March 21], at 8:49 pm, Bolingbrook Officers responded to the 400 block of Falcon Ridge Way, for the report of a domestic battery. Upon further investigation, officers were informed that Sabino Guzman, 21 years of age, had allegedly struck a female victim in the face and caused minor injuries," Columbus told Patch via email. "While being taken into custody, Guzman resisted and tried to pull away from officers. Officers were able to gain control of Guzman, and place him into custody without injury."
As of Monday afternoon, March 23, county records indicate Guzman is still being held at the Will County Jail in Joliet. His bail was set at $2,500 following an initial court appearance earlier in the day. According to inmate records, his next court appearance is scheduled for June 3.

Both of the charges Guzman faces are Class A misdemeanors, which each carry a maximum sentence of a year in prison and up to $2,500 in fines. However, the charges against him are currently only accusations and he is considered innocent until proven guilty.
