Bolingbrook Man, Juvenile Charged In Shooting With Kids Nearby: Police
Anjelo Ervin and another juvenile face weapons charges after police said an 18-year-old man was shot in the buttocks on President's Day.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting on Monday afternoon at a park where several children were at a playground that left a person injured with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Anjelo C. Ervin, 18, Bolingbrook has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, marijuana possession, and obstructing identification in connection with the shooting. A 17-year-old juvenile has also been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition and aggravated use of a weapon and has been taken to the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center, Bolingbrook Police said Wednesday.
Police said that an investigation showed that an 18-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and was cared for by a person that police called a Good Samaritan who called 911. Police said the man was treated and released from a local hospital after being shot once. Police said that children were playing in the area when the shooting occurred.

Police said that the shooter and victim appeared to know one another and police are continuing to investigate whether other people may have been involved in the shooting, which took place just after 2 p.m. on Monday in the 600 block of Kingsbury.
