Bolingbrook PD's Shop With A Cop Brightens Holidays For 175 Kids
The 25th annual event partnered Bolingbrook officers with kids from local families and invited them for a mini shopping spree at Meijer.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Officers with the Bolingbrook Police Department recently helped to brighten the holidays for some local families by participating in the department’s annual Shop With A Cop program.
A total of 66 members of the police department along with Police Chief Mike Rompa volunteered in the 25thevent, which was held at the Meijer on Boughton Road. Store manager Eric Isaacson and others welcomed the officers and support staff as well as area families who benefitted from the initiative.
Rompa said that Meijer continues to be an integral part of the department's Shop With a Cop team, and this event would be impossible without their philanthropic commitment.

Each year, Bolingbrook Police partners with local elementary schools to identify youth deserving of a special holiday. Officers are then partnered with each child for a mini-shopping spree so that each child has extra presents to unwrap this holiday season, local officials said.
This year, the department and Meijer united to help brighten the days of 175 local children. Rompa said that keeping this event organized and wrapping so many presents would not have been possible without the generous donation of time from the Bolingbrook High School Junior ROTC and National Honor Society members.
