Thief Choked Victim Before Stealing Wallet, Cell Phone: Bolingbrook Police Blotter

Credit cards stolen, catalytic converters cut from cars and more in the Bolingbrook police blotter of Jan. 28-30.

Jan. 30 

Theft from business 

Officers were called to a business on the 200 block of E. South Frontage Road for the report of a theft, police said. An ABS controller was taken and wiring and harnesses were cut between Jan. 14 and 30. Loss and damage were valued at more than $2,000.

Pedestrian violation

Ernest Nelson, 56, 297 Pueblo Dr., was arrested at 9:03 p.m. and charged a pedestrian violation after a call to Pueblo Drive and Sundance Drive of a suspicious subject, police said.

In-state warrant 

Tiffany Fernandez, 19, 417 Wellington Ln., was arrested at 2:05 a.m. and charged with an in-state warrant on the 300 block of S. Bolingbrook Drive, police said. 

Jan. 29 

Thief choked victim, stole wallet and cell phone 

Officers were called to the 500 block of Preston Dr., for the report of a robbery, police said. Sherman Hearn Jr., 23, 501 Preston Dr., #202, was arrested after grabbing, choking and taking the victim’s wallet and cell phone. 

Jan. 28 

Wallet stolen, credit card fraud 

Officers responded to a business on the 700 block of E. Boughton Road for the report of a theft, police said. A wallet was taken from a purse while the victim was having lunch between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The credit cards were used at nearly stores

Tires punctured, taillights broken 

Three tires were punctured and taillights were broken out to a car parked on the 100 block of GlenLake Drive between Jan. 28 and 29, police said. 

Catalytic converters cut 

Seven catalytic converters were cut from cars in a parking lot on the 200 block of W. North Frontage Road between Jan. 28 and 29, police said. 

Trailer stolen from parking lot 

A 1996 Monon white trailer was stolen from a parking lot on Gateway Court between Jan. 11 and 28, police said.
