Bolingbrook Police Participate In Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, officers will be in the police department lobby to receive unneeded medications from residents.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Police Department will be an official drop-off site for the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, according to a release from the department. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., officers will be in the police department lobby to receive unneeded medications from residents.

Items accepted include:
  • Expired prescriptions
  • Unwanted/unused prescription drugs
  • Over-the-counter drugs
  • Syrups, ointments and creams
  • Patches
  • Vitamins

Items NOT accepted are:

  • Syringes and sharps
  • Injectable drugs
  • Intravenous solutions
  • Illicit drugs
  • Oxygen containers
  • Pressurized canisters
  • Medical equipment

According to the news release, the Drug Take Back Day helps the public remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.
