Bolingbrook Service Will Be a Salute to Veterans—Past and Present
Plus, local headlines that didn't make today's newsletter.

On the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month, Village of Bolingbrook officials and local residents will come together to honor veterans—past and present—who have served in the armed forces during a Veterans Day service at Town Center’s Village Memorial just in front of Village Hall, 375 W. Briarcliff Road.
The service begins at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11.
The Bolingbrook High School Junior ROTC will post the colors. Wayne Mitchell, chaplain of the Bolingbrook Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5917, will deliver the invocation. And Mayor Roger Claar will read a proclamation.

Some other highlights: The Bolingbrook Beautification Commission and Veterans Group will present memorial wreaths; Eagle Scout Daniel Greenburg will play Taps; Barry Walter, Director Veterans Service—Department of Illinois Veterans of Foreign Wars; will be the keynote speaker; Bolingbrook Fire Department Honor Guard, Local 3005, Pipes & Drums, will play Amazing Grace; and event coordinator John Davin, State Senior Vice Commander—Department of Illinois Veterans of Foreign Wars, will deliver closing remarks.
