Martin was one of 32 students nominated by members of the BHS staff to be considered for selection. Nominated students were then notified and offered the opportunity to be closely considered in the second round by completing a brief essay about being a student leader.

She headed up the props and costumes crew for the BHS fall play and spring musical and hopes to be inducted into Thespians this year. Outside of school, Martin is a member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church’s youth group, a teacher’s aide for religious education classes, and a lector at parish mass.
