Bolingbrook Students Pledge to 'Make the Healthy Choice for Me'
Red Ribbon Week project at Tibbott Elementary School features a pledge and a writing assignment for third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students.

The Pledge of Allegiance of the United States is considered an expression of loyalty to the federal flag and to the republic. The pledge made by students at Bolingbrook's Tibbott Elementary School on Monday was—in some respects, at least—much more personal.
Students in third-, fourth- and fifth-grade classes pledged in writing, "Instead of drugs, I will read a good book." They also compiled of lists of activities to help them make "the healthy choice for me" as part of a Red Ribbon Week project, according to a news release from the Valley View School District.
