Bolingbrook Unemployment Rate Down
Bolingbrook's unemployment rate fell for the third consecutive month in August and is down from last year's numbers.

Signs of the economic recession coming to an end are slowly starting to show their faces, according to unemployment numbers around the area.
Bolingbrook's unemployment rate in August—the most recently reported numbers—is 9.3 percent. That number is down from 10 percent in July, 11.1 percent at the beginning of the year and 9.9 percent in August 2009.
The decrease signals the third consecutive month that Bolingbrook's unemployment rates have dropped.

Surrounding communities also reported decreasing numbers, with Naperville posting a 7.4 percent figure, Plainfield 9.3 percent, Romeoville 9.9 percent and Woodridge 8.6 percent. All of those numbers are down from July's figures and among the lowest those communities have seen all year.
As a whole, Will County reported a 9.7 unemployment rate, down from July's 10.8 percent figure and last year's 9.9 percent rate.
