A pair of earrings, an original design by Bolingbrook's own Amy Leggett, will be worn in an upcoming episode of the show. You can see the design to be used on "The Vampire Diaries" here.
Leggett said she's a member of The Artisan Group, or TAG, which provides items for gift bags for celebrities at the Oscars, Golden Globes, Emmy's, County Music Awards and stylists from various TV shows.

Through those connections, she was contacted to put together a gift bag for the stylists of "The Vampire Diaries." She received an e-mail from one of them requesting a second pair of earrings to be worn on the show.
Leggett has been making jewelry for more than 20 years. She was a vendor at last year's Promenade Bolingbrook Farmer's Market. She also shows her work at several other Bolingbrook area craft shows.
Leggett said she started bead weaving with a friend at the age of 12. Then she took an elective in high school for silversmithing. She continued that education into college. A few years ago, she started weaving chainmail.
Leggett started her business in 2011, selling jewelry on her website, The Metalmark. Her work has sold internationally, published in "Step by Step Wire Jewelry" magazine and will be published in the next issue of "Wirework" magazine.
She normally works with aluminum or stainless steel, she said, but sometimes works with precious metals, such as sterling, silver, gold and titanium. A project can take 30 to 45 minutes to three hours. If she's making a chainmail belt, it can take 12 hours.
Leggett loves building something from the ground up, she said. It's like making your own recipe and the "dish turns out fabulous."
"It's an exciting process," Leggett said. "It's very calming and sometimes frustrating. When I get into the zone, there's also an adrenaline rush. You're feverishly working on one thing. You can't wait to see the result of your labors."
