Brooks Wins Scholastic Bowl Regionals; Moves to Sectionals

will compete for the Illinois Elementary School Association’s Scholastic Bowl sectional title Monday after winning the regional championship Wednesday.

Led in victory by team captain Katie Czajka and top scorer Jeremy Karevich, the Bulldogs knocked off teams from , Humphrey and Yorkville.

Other team members include Rohit Banerjee, Giezelle Cruz, Gabby Gentile, Connor Gorski, Madison Mack, Paula Refugio, Zach Schell, Preston Scott, Nick Signore, Jordan Taylor and Azra Wazir. They are coached by David Swartz and Rita Dybas.

Brooks will go up against Westview Hills of Willowbrook, Old Quarry of Lemont and Richland of Crest Hill Monday at Humphrey Middle School starting at 4:30 p.m. The sectional winner advances to state at 1 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the Peoria Civic Center.
