Community, B.J. Ward Join Together for Giving Tree Program
The program has helped more than 200 students in the past three years.

B.J. Ward Elementary School launched its annual Giving Tree program that helps provide students and families in need with a little extra holiday cheer.
If a family is nominated for the program, parents are contacted to determine needs and wants for their children in the $10 and under gift range. Typical requests include socks, underwear, pajamas, hats, gloves, and toys.
Ward social worker Nicole Tulo places a paper ornament on the tree with each individual request. Staff, friends and family of staff members, parents, local businesses and churches then grab one or more ornaments from the tree.
