Coroner Identifies Bolingbrook Man Killed in Accident Last Week

The 64-year-old was taken to the hospital, but later died

According to a spokeswoman for the DuPage County Coroner's Office, Nathaniel Strong, 64, of Bolingbrookwas the man killed in a Naperville vehicle accident last Thursday. The spokeswoman said the cause of death is still “pending investigation.”

Police said Strong was driving a 2015 Kia Optima east on Ogden at around 12:15 p.m. last Thursday when the vehicle cut across the center median and entered the westbound lanes just east of Route 59. The Kia then continued east in the westbound lanes until it hit a traffic signal pole at the entrance of Fox River Commons Shopping Center, 686 Route 59.

Strong was pinned inside the vehicle, but Naperville firefighters were able to extricate him. He was taken to Edward Hospital, where he died of his injuries, according to police.
