CosMc's In Bolingbrook Will Stay Open

BOLINGBROOK, IL — After news of closures of CosMc's locations in Texas, Bolingbrook Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta told Patch that the Bolingbrook location will continue to stay open.

The "beverage-centric" concept from McDonald's first opened in December 2023 in Bolingbrook. The Bolingbrook location was the first to open in the United States and remains the only location in Illinois.

There are seven CosMc's locations, with one in Bolingbrook and the other six in Texas.

Mcdonald's announced that three of its CosMc's locations in Texas will close; however, the corporate giant is opening two other locations in the state.

When the Bolingbrook location opened in 2023, customers from across the country flocked to the Illinois location. Customers would often wait hours for items from CosMc's, which features specialty lemonades and teas, blended beverages, cold coffee and some food items, including some McDonald's classics.

After a year of business, McDonald's has shared that some of the best-sellers at CosMc's include Island Pick Me Up Punch, Churro Cold Brew Frappe and the Sour Energy Burst. For food, the favorites are the savory hashbrown bites, and McPops, a donut-like treat, according to the business.

"We have just scratched the surface about what we can learn about this growing category," McDonald's said in a news release. "The tests will continue for the foreseeable future as CosMc’s continues to grow – and we can’t wait to learn more..."
