"We're going down there for a purpose," Bolingbrook coach Tony Smith said to his players as he concluded practice last week.

"We are definitely going to be good," said Smith, whose team is ranked No. 4 in the nation. "(The two-game shootout) is going to a test to see where they are at and what they can do."

The Raiders will play —the hometown favorites are ranked right behind Bolingbrook nationally at No. 5.

Smith, who said he relies on the Internet and colleagues for scouting purposes, said Memphis Central has a three-guard lineup with destructive capabilities.

The Bolingbrook coach said the triumvirate of backcourt specialists is all nationally ranked.

"They are going and try and take us off the dribble," Bolingbrook point guard Ariel Massengale said of a possible Central gameplan. "This game is going to dictate the rest of the season for us. We know they have five guards who can all play."
