Fewer New Coronavirus Cases In VVSD Schools

As of Friday, 39 staff members and three students have tested positive since the beginning of the school year.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Fewer staff members tested positive for the coronavirus last week than they did the week before in Valley View School District, according to the latest numbers.

As of Friday, 39 staff members and three students have tested positive since the beginning of the school year. No student has tested positive since Aug. 30. The new cases last week numbered seven for the employees, compared to eight employees who tested positive the week before, according to the district.

The district has a total of 2,526 employees and 15,529 students. The Board of Education has approved a hybrid plan moving forward in which students will get a mix of in-person and remote lessons.
