Fountaindale Library District Reopens To Public On June 15
Normal business hours will resume but patrons are expected to follow health directives to contain the spread of coronavirus.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — In a statement on Wednesday, the Fountaindale Public Library District announced that it will be opening its doors to the public on June 15.
Despite the regular business hours from 9 a.m - 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday to Saturday and 12-6 p.m. on Sunday, there will be some new requirements in place to ensure safety of the staff and patrons, the release stated.
Those entering the building need to adhere to the following:

- Wear a face covering or mask at all times
- Maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet apart
- Wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer often
- Wipe down equipment with disinfecting wipes before and after use
- No food or drink inside the library
The water fountains will remain turned off and Brooks Cafe will not be opening at this time.
Additionally, the library has set limits on the number of patrons at any given time and furniture has been rearranged to facilitate social distancing. Elevators have been limited to one person or family at a time.

The release also said that while the Bookmobile will resume, residents will not be allowed to enter the vehicles.
"We have really missed our patrons! We were very happy to offer drive-thru service starting May 4so that our patrons could access our great collection of books movies. We know our patrons love being in our library, so we are glad we can once again open our doors, said Paul Mills, executive director of the library.
He said his staff did a great job providing services virtually.
"We have been offering great virtual programs during the closure and added new things like our online book club, and we brought back lynda.com as a training resource for our patrons," he said.
For those who are not ready to access the library physically, can do so at home through various services.
A few more things to remember:
- Outreach Services will continue to make contactless deliveries to home delivery patrons.
- The library WiFi will continue to reach the parking lot daily from 6 a.m. until midnight.
- Materials can be returned to the four external book drops. Returns will not be accepted at service desks.
- The virtual events and will continue every week.
- The drive-thru service is open during regular business hours. Patrons can place holds using the catalog and pick them up at the drive-thru.
