Girl, 17, Shot In Drug Deal Gone Bad, Shelter In Place Issued: Bolingbrook PD

Residents in the area of Lexington Drive and Lee Lane were asked to stay inside and shelter in place with two suspects at large.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A shelter-in-place request has been lifted after a 17-year-old girl was shot near Lexington Drive and Lee Lane on Friday afternoon. Bolingbrook police said a handgun has been recovered.

The girl has been taken to an area hospital and was in stable condition, police said.

Police said they believe the shooting is the result of a prearranged drug deal and is not random.

Officers are in the area conducting a search for two suspects, described as a black teen boy between ages 14-16 wearing a red hoodie and black pants, and another black teen boy around age 16 wearing a brown hoodie and black pants.

Both teens fled on foot, police said.

As of just before 5 p.m., Bolingbrook police the shelter in place had been lifted.
