Holiday Turkey Giveaway Planned In Bolingbrook

BOLINGBROOK, IL – State Senator Rachel Ventura and State Representative Dagmara Avelar are partnering up with Meridian Health Plan of Illinois, Inc. (Meridian) to host a Holiday Turkey giveaway in Bolingbrook on Dec. 18.

“Giving back to the community in any way we can has been a priority of mine since entering office,” said Ventura. “We want families in need to know they have holiday meal options, including food pantries, available in the district to help food insecurity. I’m grateful we could partner together and make the holidays happier for our community.”

The Holiday Turkey Giveaway, which will serve over 100 families, will be located at Bailey’s Catering, located at 681 W. Boughton Road, in Bolingbrook on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m., while supplies last, according to a news release.

“As we mark a season of giving and togetherness, we also recognize the financial challenges many families face when trying to put a holiday meal on the table. I’m proud to partner with my colleagues and Meridian this holiday season to make sure our neighbors are well taken care of,” said Avelar in a news release. “We have the means to tackle food insecurity in our community, and I encourage our families to take advantage of local food pantries and events like our Turkey Giveaway to make this time a little easier on our residents.”
