BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bilingual Teachers at Independence Elementary School provided parents with activities and strategies to assist them in developing their children’s social and emotional skills at home. Each grade level shared an activity related to auto-control, self-awareness, self- management, social awareness, and relationship skills.

The Learning Environment Coordinator from Tibbott Elementary School, Mrs. Lorenza Terrazas-Rivera, joined the presentation by teaching and practicing strategies with parents. The evening of events also included discussions about expectations as well as suggested ideas for parents on how to support their children when taking the Illinois Assessment of Readiness test next month.
