Local Restaurant, Family Square, 'Not Going Anywhere:' Owner

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Family Square restaurant at 372 S Bolingbrook Drive has been open since 1985. Recently one of the owners, Tony Pitsilos, said a rumor started that it would close in 2020. He insisted it's not true.

"We're not going anywhere," he said.

The rumors began, Pitsilos explained, after the Family Square decided earlier this year to close earlier in the day. In previous years, the 35-year-old restaurant was open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. As of July, that was changed to 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"We've been open for 35 years, we decided to slow down a bit," Pitsilos said.

Despite the change in operating hours, Pitsilos said he had no plans to shutter the restaurant anytime soon, adding that he recently had renovations done on the property.
