BOLINGBROOK, IL – A 30-year-old Chicago man faces criminal charges after a warrant was issued for his arrest this week in connection with the unauthorized filming of a woman while she was in the bathroom at the Bolingbrook IKEA store.

Marcus Deshaun Carson has been charged with four counts of felony burglary, one count of unauthorized video recording and one count of attempted unauthorized video recording, Bolingbrook police said.

The charges stem from an incident in September when police said that they were called to the IKEA store on Boughton Road for a complaint involving a customer in the women’s bathroom. The 39-year-old woman told police that while using the bathroom, she noticed a man stick his phone under the bathroom stall in an attempt to take a video, police said.

Police said that Carson was still at the store when they arrived and was questioned regarding the incident, police said. Carson denied recording the woman and allowed police to look at his phone before he was released pending further investigation, police said.

However, further investigation determined that Carson’s phone was used in the video recording incident and police said that another victim was identified based on information taken from the phone.
