Man Dies After Being Shot, Suspect In Custody: Bolingbrook Police
A 33-year-old Bolingbrook man is dead after he was shot during a family argument, police said.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — A suspect is in custody after a man was shot and killed during what Bolingbrook police believe was a "family argument" on Monday, police said.
The victim has been identified as Devon Davis, 33, of Bolingbrook. Davis, who was found with a gunshot wound, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, and police said they are working in conjunction with the Will County State's Attorney's Office on formal charges.

Just before 2 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a home in the 300 block of Walnut Circle for a report of a person shot.
Police said the shooter left the area on foot before officers arrived, and that a preliminary investigation reveals the shooting "was the result of a family argument and is not a random act."

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Bolingbrook Police Department Investigations Division at 630-226-8620 or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 630-378-4772. A tip may also be submitted at bolingbrookcrimestoppers.org or by using the mobile P3 Tips app. All contact with Crime Stoppers is anonymous and if the information leads to an arrest, a cash reward may be issued.
Just before 3 p.m., the Fountaindale Public Library said via social media that the library was on lockdown, per police orders.
Valley View School District said police were advising residents to shelter in place due to gunfire near Brooks Middle School and that all Bolingbrook schools were under "secure building and teach" and dismissal would be delayed until police give the all-clear.
Police said all school lockdowns and shelter in place orders have since been lifted.
