Meadowbrook Manor Reports New Death In Almost Two Months: IDPH
The Bolingbrook nursing home still has the highest number of deaths among all long-term care facilities in Will County.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — After almost two months, a Bolingbrook nursing home reported a new death. Meadowbrook Manor had 41 coronavirus-related deaths as of Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. The last death had been reported on May 29.
The facility still has the highest number of deaths in Illinois among any other long-term care facility. The number of cases remains at 188, unchanged since May 29, although it is still the highest in Will County, surpassing Symphony of Joliet, which once had the most cases and deaths. According to IDPH, the Joliet facility is now closed.
At open nursing homes in Will County, there are 102 deaths and Meadowbrook makes up 40 percent of all deaths in the county. St. James Manor in Crete has the second-highest number of deaths — 21 — among open long-term care facilities in the county.

Among the residents and staff in all the long-term care facilities in the state, the IDPH reports a total of 24,106 cases and 4,062 deaths as of Friday.
State health officials on Wednesday announced 1,393 new cases of the coronavirus and 18 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus, bringing the statewide total to 175,124 confirmed infections and 7,462 known deaths. Another 1,242 probable cases and 192 probable deaths are not included in the official totals.

As of Tuesday night, 1,491 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 across the state. Of those, 355 were in intensive care and 152 were on ventilators, according to IDPH. That's about 8 percent higher than on Monday.
