No New Deaths At Meadowbrook For The First Time In Weeks

The deadliest long-term care facility in Illinois, Meadowbrook Manor, has not reported more deaths, COVID-19 cases since May 29.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — For the first time in weeks, a Bolingbrook nursing home has not reported any deaths. Meadowbrook Manor reported 40 coronavirus-related deaths on Friday, that has remained unchanged since May 29, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The facility the highest number of deaths in Illinois among any other long-term care facility.

The number of cases also remains at 188 as of May 29, although it is still the highest in Will County, surpassing Symphony of Joliet, which last month had the most cases and deaths. According to IDPH, the Joliet facility reported a total 132 outbreaks and 25 deaths.

At nursing homes in Will County there are 143 deaths and Meadowbrook makes up 27 percent of all deaths in the county.

Among the residents and staff in all the long-term care facilities in the state, the IDPH reports a total of 18,840 cases and 3,144 deaths.
