Over 100 Homes Still Without Power; No Accidents Reported

As of 11:24 a.m. Wednesday, almost 187 ComEd customers in Plainfield are without power, according to the company's outage map.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Power outage continues in several Bolingbrook homes Wednesday morning after a severe storm ripped through the area Monday.

Tornado warnings were issued for much of the Chicago area, with wind gusts of 80 mph, hail the size of a quarter and downed trees and power lines were reported as the severe weather passed through northern Illinois Monday.

As of 11:24 a.m. Wednesday, almost 187 ComEd customers in Plainfield are without power, according to the company's outage map. There are at least 27 power outages across the village, affecting less than 5 percent of all customers in Plainfield.

This is a marked improvement from Tuesday where several hundred residences did not have power.

According to Lt. Anthony Columbus from the Bolingbrook Police Department, there were no accidents or injuries reported as a result of the storm.

ComEd wrote in a Facebook post that crews are "working diligently to restore power as quickly and safely as possible."

"Customers in the same neighborhood may be restored before some neighbors, due to different transformers providing power to different sections of the street or the power line directly feeding electricity to your property being damaged," the post said.
