Park District Requiring Masks Indoors, During Some Activities
Masks are required for people 2 and older during some activities, including dance, gymnastics and karate, at the park district.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — In line with Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker's indoor mask mandate for the state, the Bolingbrook Park District updated its guidance to require masks be worn, despite vaccination status, indoors. Dancers and gymnasts are those required to mask up while practicing their sport as well.
The mandate went into practice for everyone ages 2 and older Monday.
At the park district, located at 201 Recreation Drive, masks will continue to be recommended but not always required during an activity. Swimmers, for example, won't be required to wear masks in the water but will have to on the pool deck, officials said in a Facebook post on Friday. Aquatics instructors, though, will continue to wear masks at all times, according to the park district's website.

Officials said information will be sent out to participants in certain programs and services that will use social-distancing measures instead of face coverings, according to the park district's Facebook post. Those who go to outdoor events are also asked to maintain distance from people around them.
