Pee-Ew! Foul Smell of Burnt Pot Leads to Bolingbrook Drug Bust: Police Report
A 31-year-old Bolingbrook man is apprehended following a traffic stop near the intersection of Navajo Court and Seneca Lane, said Police Lt. Mike Rompa.

Police Lt. Mike Rompa didn't exactly call a drug bust in Bolingbrook on Thursday night one of the "smell a rat from a mile away" variety.
He did indicate the "strong odor of burnt cannabis" led to police apprehending Ransom C. Baker, 31, of 2 Roanoke Court, Bolingbrook, following a traffic stop at 6:32 p.m. near the intersection of Navajo Court and Seneca Lane.
Rompa said Baker was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis, possession of drug equipment and motor vehicle violations.
Baker was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. And his vehicle—a silver 2000 Audi A6—was seized by authorities, Rompa said.
He said an officer stopped Baker for an equipment and moving violation.
"Upon making contact with the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of burnt cannabis emanating from the vehicle and also observed clear plastic baggies containing a green leafy substance on the lap of Baker," Rompa said.
"Further investigation revealed additional drug paraphernalia within the vehicle and three pills (Alprazolam) on his person."
Ransom was scheduled to appear in bond court on Friday, Dec. 27. He first was booked on a felony narcotic charge in October of 2011, according to Will County Sheriff's Office records.
