Plainfield East Cheer Team Advances To State Finals

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Plainfield East High School will send its competitive cheer team to the IHSA state final competition on Feb. 3-4.

Plainfield East placed fifth in the large division at the O'Fallon High School sectional, according to the IHSA website. The top five teams at sectionals advance to the state finals.

Plainfield East earned a score of 86.47, edging out sixth-place Belleville East (which had a score of 86.20). The large division teams of Edwardsville, Joliet West, Lincoln-Way West and Minooka rounded out the top five teams who also advanced to state final competition, according to IHSA.

Plainfield East will compete Feb. 3-4 at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington.
