A coyote attacked and killed a Bichon Frise Sunday night in the backyard of a Bolingbrook home in the 10 block of Brompton Court.
On Feb. 6, a reader reported that a pack of "at least five" coyotes ran through her front and side yard. Her home is located just north of the intersection of Boughton Road and Lindsey Lane, near Indian Boundary Park and a section of the DuPage River.
"They started to come toward our two dogs when but our dogs are larger animals and I went outside and clapped and yelled loudly and that seemed to make them run away," she wrote.
"If they are in a pack of two or more they are hunting. If a small dog had been out in a yard alone they probably would have gotten it."
Coyotes have also recently been spotted:
- Near the 10th hole of the Naperville Golf Course
- On Briarcliff and Christine Way. "(The coyote) bolted out in from of my car coming from Pelican Park area and headed down Christine Way."
