Relay For Life of Bolingbrook This Weekend

After months of planning, the 2012 Relay for Life of Bolingbrook kicks off this weekend.

The event will be held from 2 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday, at the , 375 W Briarcliff Road.

As of June 5, 310 participants were registered and $40,827 had been raised, officials said.

While the main objective of Relay For Life is to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients, the event helps spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer and unite a community in the fight against cancer, said Lona Slaughter of the American Cancer Society.
