Season of Giving: Bolingbrook Students Collect for Local Food Pantries

Drive spearheaded by Bolingbrook Humphrey Middle School student government nets more than 3,000 items.

President Abraham Lincoln spoke of "government of the people, by the people, for the people" in his Gettysburg Address.

And members of the Bolingbrook Humphrey Middle School student government made those words come back to life during their annual food drive. The student government folks collected more than 3,000 items for local food pantries, according to a Valley View School District news release.

The Humphrey students were happy to show off their handiwork and pose for photographs at the conclusion of the drive. Stephanie Sewasciuk and Sarah Moreno serve as student government sponsors at the school.
