Valley View School Board To Vote On New Superintendent On Monday

During the public meeting, which begins 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, school board members will vote to approve a new Superintendent Of Schools

The Valley View Board of Education will conduct their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday,
January 27 at John J. Lukancic Middle School, 725 W. Normantown Rd., Romeoville IL.

The Board Meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., at which time, the Board will vote to move to Closed Executive Session. The Public Session of the meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

Among the action items for approval by the Board, is the hiring of Mrs. Rachel Kinder, Ed.S as Superintendent of Schools. If approved by the Board, Mrs. Kinder would succeed current Superintendent of Schools Dr. James A. Mitchem, Jr. who is retiring on June 30, 2020.

Mrs. Kinder is currently Valley View School District Asst. Superintendent for Educational Services and has served the District since 2007. She began her teaching career in 2002 as a Spanish and ESL teacher in Joliet Township District 204. Mrs. Kinder joined VVSD as a Foreign Language Teacher and Department Chair at Bolingbrook High School in 2007 and then served as Bolingbrook HS Asst. Principal of Curriculum and Instruction and Interim Principal. Mrs. Kinder joined VVSD District Administration in 2011 as Asst. Superintendent for Grades 6-12 Education and was promoted to her current position in 2013.
