VVSD Offers Translation Tools In Preparation For Remote Learning

BOLINGBROOK, IL — In preparation of the 2020-2021 school year, the Valley View School District is making digital, online translation and interpretation tools available to all students, parents and staff members.

VVSD schools will begin the year with remote only instruction for all students and the first day of school is Aug.26.

"Every VVSD student, family, and staff member can now self-translate between multiple languages on multiple platforms including smartphones,” said VVSD Director of Multilingual English Learners Ricardo Sanchez Lopez.

Google Translate and Microsoft Translator are the basic tools now available on the VVSD website at the following link: www.vvsd.org/translate This webpage provides multiple ways to communicate using digital translation tools for computers and smartphones.

The power to translate text in Google Documents, and the use of an online interpreter for conversations, are the most powerful tools provided by this website with video tutorials which allow users to start connecting with others in any language.
