After a search of the area, police found Fanniel hiding under the deck of a neighboring house with his two children, each about three years old. Fanniel was aware that he was wanted for multiple warrants, police said, and that's why he fled.

Fanniel was charged with the warrants, possession of cannabis, endangering the health or life of a child and multiple traffic citations.

The children were turned over to family members. DCFS was also notified of the incident. The Range Rover was impounded. Officers seized about 30 grams of cannabis in six individual packages.

Fanniel was processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
